Chris's Ferrymead Recount

My Trip to Ferrymead

On the 30th of July 2008 my class went to Ferrymead. We all went in a big hall to get changed, the girls went into a different room to get changed, the boys had to wear Knickerbottoms, a plain top and a train driver’s hat. The girls had to wear frilly dresses with a white frilly hat. After we got changed we climbed on to a train and had a fascinating tram ride.

After that we went outside into a horribly cold and windy day, we split up into groups of five and went off to our first rotation, mine was the movies. At the movies three were about 10 seats, we all sat down, the lights stared to dim, the curtains that were covering the screen started to open and the movies started. There were three movies, the first one was about a man trying to get a woman who needed to get to the hospital in a hurry, the second one was a car chase with a robber and the last one, which was my favorite, was Tom and Jerry at the pool table club.

After the movies we went off to the bakery, we went into the back room washed out hands and got told what to do. First we rolled out the cookie dough and made your shape, mine was a person with sun glasses made out of chocolate buttons. Then they were put into a massive stove. The owner showed us all these old everyday tools. Then she told us to go and find some stuff in the shop. When we were finished we went down to the school house and met Mrs Black. She was a really mean and kept whacking her stick around so it looked like she was going to hit us. First she made us show our finger nails to make sure they were clean. She never talked normally; she just barked orders at us. We sat down and I put my arms on the desk she went of like a firework smacking her stick on my desk and yelling. When she calmed down, she handed out ink pens to use with an ink pottle for hand writing. I found it really hard because my pen kept ripping the paper and then it cause a big ink blob on my paper. Then we wrote out the five times table on a black board thing with a black stick that came out white. She sent us away. We started to wonder around all the housed and other things when we had finished we went back to the meeting hall, got our bags and got dressed back into our old clothes. We hopped on the bus and sped away. I think Ferrymead was lots of fun.
