Music on the Website?!

Greetings Earthlings,

I have perfected the art of placing music on the school website. I originally used Adobe Flash to make "movies" so the music would play. Then I asked Mr Grant what he'd done and he had not done that, he'd just embedded the tune (it's only a little different from adding a picture). So I tried that, and lo and behold, I could just add music using the website design programme FrontPage (those who know about it will be impressed, it's not a fancy programme in any way...).

So now I have my brother Jonathan (from our group Pict's recordings, 1999) on the school main page playing a nice classical number; a tune played by Julian (who joins me in my 'other' band. Sebastian hasn't added the guitar yet, nor Julian the vocals) and I, with Evan (From my main band: the Enright House) playing keyboards on on the class page. We recorded this around May; an Enright House tune (Mark play all the instruments on the recording, a couple of years ago before I even met him, we play it pretty much the same live) on the School Band homepage; another Pict number on My Teaching Beliefs, and on Tessa's own Special Page, Download Homework and Timetable (all on the Room 11 site) I have three of the seven tunes I made up last week, playing guitar, bass and drums on. Some of them feature Evan's keyboards on.

I hope your computers have speakers, otherwise enjoy the read and think, "Good for him".

Flash is so Cool!

Dear compadres,

I just tried something, and it was so easy it's funny now.

I saw that Mr Grant had a sample of voice on his website, and I thought, "Hey, I reckon a fella like me could have a go at doing that mate."

So I did. I downloaded a free trial of Adobe Flash and made a "Movie" which sof ar just says "Check out my new song" and plays you a tune I just recorded, featuring the keyboardist from my band. I played only the guitar, bass and drums.

It's on le class website, enjoy!

End of Holidays

Hi there,

Well, it's almost time to go back to school.

Some of you will be of the opinion that this is the last day, some others may think there are three more days off.

To which I reply, are you going to school tomorrow, yes or no? (Ah, I enjoyed that debate, thank you, you know who you are...)

I miss the class. I got all excited today when I woke up because it certainly does seem like the end of the holidays, even though there is a weekend pending.

I got everything ready for the term last week, so I could relax this week. I've read so many movies and watched so many books you'd think I'd been up late to do so. And you'd be right.

I watched the Live Earth concert, that was fun. I had a cool idea: I'll walk to the gym and pool (same place), thus not polluting the air with my car, saving money, and getting extra exercise - for free! I feel like a genius, although alas I am not... Some of you are though...

Looking forward to the big day on Monday, nothing's more inspiring than having a class of such highly motivated kids with great senses of humour and so much creativity you could be mistaken for creative people.

(Well, not mistaken...)

See "yous fullas" on Monday, yippee!

Room 11's Fantastic Home-page Blog

Dear Room 11,

This is my old blog. It's not got much on it besides my old stories from last year.

But that's going to change!

I'm going to blog (short for web-log, as in, write something on the internet, might as well say write, eh?), my thoughts and ideas about school, life etc. You can reply to my comments by clicking on comments and adding your thoughts.

Welcome to the internet era.
